The Environmental Leader Product and Project Awards recognizes excellence in products/services and projects that provide companies with environmental, sustainability and energy management benefits. Winners are awarded Top Product or Top Project of the Year based on scores from a panel of distinguished judges with in-the-trenches experience in environmental management. This year, we’re synchronizing the timing of our two awards programs, Environmental Leader and Energy Manager Today, so please be aware that submission deadlines are the same for both. Note: If a product or project fits the criteria for both EL and EMT, feel free to enter it in each program.
Winners of the Environmental Leader Product and Project Awards will be showcased at a live event during the Environmental Leader 2018 Conference in May. Winners will be informed at least eight weeks prior to the conference so they can make their travel plans. (Attendance at the ceremony is not required for winners, but we encourage attendance as the event offers an additional opportunity to promote your win to a prime audience.)
“The recognition from Environmental Leader not only lends credibility to our story, it further motivates our employees to keep innovating. Our Plymouth K-lime project has inspired other facilities to think outside of the box and increasingly incorporate circular economy principles into how we manage our manufacturing byproducts.”
– Kevin Fritze, Domtar
December 15, 2017 Awards submissions ended on 12/22/17
Companies landing Top Product or Project of the Year Awards are promoted to Environmental Leader’s audience, 75% of whom influence spending decisions.
- Awards ceremony and winner announcement at the Environmental Leader 2018 conference May 15-17.
- National recognition and validation from industry experts on a product or project’s strengths, with positive quotes from the judges.
- Promotion in the Environmental Leader Product & Project of the Year Report, in the EL newsletter, in a “Hall of Fame” on the EL website, and in EL press materials.
- Use of the Environmental Leader Top Product/Project of the Year badge, which can be displayed on product packaging, websites, trade show displays and posters, and in other marketing materials.
Again this year: One Judges’ Choice Award will be given in the Product and Project category. While award winners will be notified privately several weeks prior to the conference in order to make their travel plans, Judges’ Choice Winners will not be announced until the Awards Dinner.
Don’t miss your opportunity for fame, bragging rights!
Our judges look for products or projects that provide clear, substantial benefits and that have viable attributes that set them apart from others.
Eligibility: The product or project must be related to the sustainability, energy, and environmental fields.
Value: Must add significant value to energy, environmental and sustainability management efforts.
Technology: Where applicable, technology should be unique and useful.
Innovation: The product or project’s approach must be innovative and effective.
Contribution: Must show improvements to the bottom line.
Efficiency and reliability: Must work when it is supposed to work, and continue working efficiently for a reasonable lifespan.
A panel of experts in the environmental management field will judge the submissions. Each submission will be judged by at least three judges. Judges use entry forms and supporting material (spec sheets, charts, case studies, testimonials, etc.) provided by the entrants as a basis for scoring. Judges provide a score and short written comments about each product or project. Products or Projects scoring at least a 4/5 will be named award winners. Companies will receive a summary of the comments, but will not know which judge rated their products. Environmental Leader has no hand in judging the entries. Judges will be announced at the same time we announce the winners; while they may also submit their own product or projects for award consideration, judges will not be assigned as judges for their own submissions or that of a competitor.
Final Deadline: December 15, 2017
