Solar Plus Storage to Save California School District $2.2 Million

Pleasanton Unified School District signed a 25-year power purchase agreement financed by Duke Energy Renewables for REC Solar onsite solar plus storage. The investment in solar carports and battery energy storage at one high school is projected to save the district more than $2.2 million over the lifetime of the PPA.

Duke Energy, in its 13th annual Sustainability Report, states that it’s owned and purchased renewable energy (wind, solar, biomass and hydroelectric power) was equivalent to roughly 9.3% of its generation mix in 2018 – reflecting an 11% increase compared to 2017.

The University of North Alabama (UNA) recently announced a partnership to implement a capital recovery and reinvestment project with Schneider Electric to modernize its facilities, drive sustainability efforts and help the university reduce its energy consumption. City of Anaheim Deploys Solar Projects at Nine Public Schools
