DOE’s Advanced Rooftop Unit Campaign Has Saved $110 Million to Date

The US Department of Energy’s (DOE) Better Buildings Initiative’s Advanced Rooftop Unit (RTU) Campaign’s 350 participants have impacted 160,000 rooftop units, saving $110 million and more than 1 billion kilowatt hours (kWh) annually since the campaign’s inception in 2013.

DOE Partners on Zero-Carbon Retrofits for the Multifamily Building Sector

The US Department of Energy (DOE) and the California Energy Commission (CEC) announced a collaboration with the Rocky Mountain Institute to catalyze the development of a speedy and scalable process for zero-carbon retrofits in the multifamily home sector through the RMI’s REALIZE initiative, which aims to produce zero carbon retrofits for residential buildings.

San Antonio Records Record Growth in Solar Capacity

In 2018, solar energy capacity in San Antonio grew to a combined capacity of 186.9 megawatts and the Alamo City is now ranked seventh highest in the United States and number one in Texas, according to a report from Environment Texas Research and Policy Center.

Indiana School District Receives $4.7 Million in Energy Improvements

Clinton Prairie School Corporation in Frankfort, Indiana, received $4.7 million in energy performance improvements through a contract with Johnson Controls. The deal included state-of-the-art LED lighting as well as building optimization throughout the school district.
