GE Sells Energy-Focused Startup Current To Private Equity Firm

GE announced the sale of its energy-focused business Current to New York-based private equity firm American Industrial Partners this week. Current makes energy efficiency and digital productivity products for commercial offices, retail stores, industrial facilities, and cities.

Morgan Stanley Switches 600 Branches To Energy-Efficient Lighting

Morgan Stanley is collaborating with GE’s energy-focused startup Current to upgrade lighting at more than 600 retail branches. The companies say they expect the program to reduce lighting-related energy consumption by as much as 50% in some branches.
